My Paper Bag Mind

I used a lot of these as paper over the years...

I’ll be boarding a plane for Peru for 2 weeks as this is posted. I’m sure I’ll be writing while I’m there, but I’m not sure if I’ll have the connectivity to post. So in the meantime, I’ll schedule some entries from my latest work entitled, “I Write On Anything (Written on a Napkin)“. This is also available as an eBook

Here is the first, written on a paper bag on August 6, 1995 (I still have the paper bag):

Page 214:

My paper bag mind is so weak
In such a way as to never be understood
As I sit in a house that feels empty
Can’t bring myself to leave as I should
How can one stay where he is so unwanted
Just because he wants to stay…somewhere
I don’t even know where I want to go
Never the less stay…so where?
Where do I go? I am rotten
How could my happiness have gotten
So damn far away
